Consumer Protection & Debt Defense

Understanding your options when debt becomes overwhelming

Debt collection lawsuits and consumer issues can feel stressful and confusing — especially when you’re unsure of your rights. Community Christian Legal Aid (CCLA) provides free assistance for eligible individuals who are being sued by a creditor, helping them understand their options and next steps.

SERVICES WE PROVIDE

How We Can Help

Consumer Protection

CCLA offers free assistance to help individuals understand their rights when dealing with unfair or deceptive practices by creditors or debt collectors. A CCLA attorney can review notices, demand letters, and court filings to help explain what they mean and what steps may be necessary.

In some cases, CCLA may provide legal coaching and document review to help you respond appropriately and protect your rights.

Debt Defense

CCLA offers free assistance for individuals who are being sued by a creditor over a debt. A CCLA attorney can explain the lawsuit process, important deadlines, and available options for responding.

While CCLA does not represent clients in court for debt defense matters, we may offer guidance and document review to help individuals prepare responses and better understand their case.
